Kiara GNU/Linux 2.3 is now available for download.
New Mozilla releases
Firefox 7.01
Thunderbird 7.01
Seamonkey 2.4.1
Opera is no longer released preinstalled, but the installer is located at /root/opera-11.51-1087.i386.linux The added step seems to result in much better performance.
You can cd to the installer directory (as root) and type sh install
Or you can try launching the installer from the desktop.
Symbolic links been added that should allow you to launch with the command opera and opera-widget-manager. The adobe flashplayer has been added to /usr/lib/opera/plugins. As far as i can figure, this should allow you to use flashplayer from opera, but so far it hasn't worked for me. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, letting me know would be much appreciated.

Any word on when this is available?
ReplyDeleteI'll get it uploaded right away, after a quick check to make sure that it's still current. My account has been fixed for a couple of days, and if I'd known anyone was interested (much thanks) I would have been more diligent.
ReplyDeleteI'll post another comment when the upload is completed, It usually takes about an hour or so.
Kiara 2.3 is now ready for download. The iso is 664.51 MBS. I'm going to download and burn the CD as a test, but that's always worked in the past.
ReplyDeleteDownloaded fine, added wpasupplicant and wlassistant to get wireless working. It still kicked me off my network every 10 seconds, or so, but it's definitely progress in getting wireless working on here. Maybe you could add them to your next build? I tried adding WICD and after slugging through dependency hell it just segfaulted every time I tried to run it. Thanks.

I was just uploading the new kiara when I remembered your request, so I'm going to add wpasuplicant and wlassistrant and upload again. The answer is we'll be up tonight.
ReplyDeleteFor future reference, KIARA releases immediately follow Firefox releases.
